Vince,
I agree that PELHAM is a very good movie. But what makes you continue to say it is the greatest movie ever? I recently rewatched it because I was curious about your obsession, but I came away from the viewing feeling the movie was short of the greatness of films like CHINATOWN, THE WILD BUNCH, THE SEVEN SAMURAI and a list that could go on a bit. I understand that all of this is personal taste, but I want to give you an excuse to elaborate on the blog about your love for this flick. You may have been more detailed in a previous post that I have forgotten about, so a link might get the job done. But I must KNOW. This movie seems to be your CATCHER IN THE RYE, the key to your ID, the movie people will be discussing when they speak of Vince Keenan fifty years from now. What is the secret of THE TAKING OF PELHAM ONE TWO THREE? TL
Damn, TL, when you throw a gauntlet, you throw it but good.

So I exaggerate for comic effect. A more accurate statement would be that Pelham is my favorite movie of all time. In one of the many posts where I mention Pelham, I called it "a perfect thriller, a quintessential New York movie, and one of the most entertaining films ever made." That about sums it up. I went into more detail in this Mystery*File piece. You should know, though, that you're gonna need more than a single movie to unravel the fundamental mystery that is me.
