Multiple Elvii, but no Zevon. Surely, when his cover manages to be a radical re-reading of the original text then where ever cover versions are mentioned a hat-tip should be made toward "Back In The High Life".
Also any list of covers better than the original that doesn't mention either John Cale's or Jeff Buckley's take on "Hallelujah" (I prefer Cale's take, though I love Buckley's too) is immediately suspect.
I watched LOOKWELL that night too (opposite 60 MINUTES) on NBC. Thankfully, I taped it, so I can still pull it off the shelf and watch it occasionally.
The Langley Schools Music Project version of "Desperado" is a far superior version, if only for the fact that it scares the living shit out of me every time I hear it. Bravo, small girl.
I listened to the Langley Schools Music Project version of "Desperado." That's ... wow. Jesus. I don't know if I can bring myself to play any other tracks. Thanks, Ray.
