On the nominations: I'm ashamed of myself. I've only seen six of those, none of which are in the major categories. For me it was an annus horribilis theater-us. Or whatever.
So have you read PEYTON PLACE? One of the great formative experiences of my adolescence back in the Olden Days. And still an entertaining novel, not to mention a pretty good one.
You can't see it, Bill, but I'm hanging my head. I haven't read PEYTON PLACE. But I'd like to. Anything that causes that much trouble has got to be good.
Meh. I'm still flustered Garden State didn't get recognized for anything. I think Natalie Portman's supporting actress nomination should have been for that, but then, I have not seen Closer yet. And where is Kill Bill Vol 2? Come on, it deserved at least a nomination for Art Direction.
Danny: I wasn't surprised to see those two movies ignored. They appeal to a different (read: younger) audience than Academy members. ETERNAL SUNSHINE got some love from them only because they couldn't ignore it.
